Jan ’16 Update

Well our intended Christmas update had turned into a New Year’s update which is now in danger of being a Valentine’s Day update here shortly! Actually, we were able to get out a general update of the family before Christmas. But things have been so busy I have not had an opportunity to update you on how things are coming together for the Pastor Training Ministry this year.

Things Are Moving in the Philippines

I hinted in my last update that news would be coming regarding opportunities for training in the Philippines. And since that time I’ve been working with Sean Ransom and Vincent Greene on a new program to provide pastors with the tools to study, practice and then accurately preach the word of God. You can find highlights of the program in the latest newsletter from TMAI at http://www.tmai.org/trainingcentres/tea_news/excitement-grows-as-new-program-launched-in-philippines/.PhillipinesThe program is designed to be completed in two years, meeting one night per week. However, many pastors who desire to participate in this training are unable to travel weekly to the present locations where the program is offered. Thus, a modular program has been designed covering the same material in three years when meeting for two weeks out of the year. It will be offered in locations where those in the more remote areas can be able to come. It is this three year program that I will be teaching.Phillipines TeachingThe plan is for me to travel to the Philippines twice per year and staying two weeks each time in order to teach the same module at two different locations. In this way, we can maximize the number of pastors who have access to the classes. My first trip will be this April. After participating in our church’s Short Term Mission trip to the Philippines, I will remain two more weeks to teach the modules. So please begin praying now for the trip and for my preparation.

Support update: We just passed 70%!

80% ThermometerPlease also be in prayer for God’s provision for us as I move to part-time as Pastor at Calvary Bible Church. We are currently at just over 70% of the support needed from those who have committed to regular giving to this ministry. And while we rejoice that we are nearly three-fourths the way there, that still means we have a little over one-fourth to go. If you have not yet considered about supporting us, take some time to pray about it, if the Lord might lead you that direction. And if you would like begin making monthly (or quarterly or annual) donations make the check out to Calvary Bible Church with ‘suggested use Carns Missions’ on the memo line. Please know that we are so appreciative of your partnering with us in whatever way you can, especially in prayer.Yours in Christ,Tim and Tina
