Nov’ 18 Update: A Thankful Heart and a Heartfelt Request

Each year during the month of November, our attention turns towards those things for which we are grateful. And rightly so. Being thankful, particularly to God, is something He deserves (Rom 1:21), something He commands (Col 3:17), and something He desires (1 Thess 5:18).

“As the Lord loveth a cheerful giver, so likewise a cheerful thanksgiver.”

- Puritan John Boys

Paul is an example of one who was characterized by gratitude. From the first of his letters (Rom 1:8 “First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all”) to the last (2 Tim 1:4 “I thank God … as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day”), Paul was particularly thankful to God for those who labored with him in the ministry.

Co-Laboring Along with Us

As I have been reflecting these last couple of weeks for what I am thankful, like Paul, I am incredibly thankful to God for you. You have been co-laborers in the Pastors Training Ministry in your support and in your encouragements to me by card or text or phone call and most especially in your prayers. While abroad, I am often humbled by the opportunity God has given me to serve pastors and God’s people in other lands, I am even more humbled by the generosity and kindness and care that God has shown me through you.I know I say these kinds of things often in my updates, but it cannot be said enough. I truly appreciate your partnership. And the pastors appreciate it as well. They often tell me how grateful they are for the people who give their time and money and prayers to make it possible for them to receive training that they otherwise could not so readily get.

A Heartfelt Request for Prayer

And this brings me to the heartfelt request. We still need to raise about $1500/month in support. My request is not for you to give but to PRAY – pray for the Lord to provide and for us to trust in Him through the process. And if you know of any who may be interested in partnering with us or in receiving our monthly updates (or both), feel free to have them contact me at timc@calvarybiblechurch.org.  Or let me know and I can contact them. May the Lord bless you.p.s. stay tuned for our plans for 2019 coming in next month’s update
