June '16 Update
Prayer Availeth Much
Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; —Col 4:2-3The importance of prayer for the work of the gospel cannot be overstated. The great missionary Paul was constantly asking that others pray for open doors for the gospel and that God would grant him boldness in the proclamation (Eph 6:18-20). Even the greatest of missionaries, the Lord Jesus Christ, underscored the importance of prayer when He said to “beseech the Lord of the harvest to send workers into the field” (Matt 9:38).And so, I would ask that you take a moment each day to look at our itinerary below and pray for our mission team that is leaving for Kenya today. Please pray for Carole, Abby, Jordan, Cristina, Tina, Brock, Bob and me as we proclaim the gospel of Christ in a predominantly Muslim community and as we seek to edify the saints who live there. Pray also that we would be an encouragement to Tim and Toni Ghrist who have been serving the Lord in Mombasa for over 30 years. Please pray for strength, safety, team unity, wisdom, boldness, and compassion. Pray that God would move in the hearts of those who hear the message of our great Savior to turn to Him and be saved. Pray also that we would be a blessing to the many pastors and churches that we will be visiting while we are there.

One More Thing
Please continue to pray for the Lord to provide our support. At the end of June, I transition officially to half time in my role as Mission’s Pastor at Calvary. After reassessing our current support and our personal and ministry travel needs we are just under about 75% of what is required. If the Lord leads you to choose to support this ministry, you can do so by check made out to Calvary Bible Church with ‘suggested use Carns Missions’ on the memo line. The check can be placed in the Sunday offering or mailed to Calvary Bible Church at 1101 S. Main St, Burbank, CA 91506. Yours in Christ,Tim and Tina
